A Little About Me

I'm a full-stack software engineer with a background in product management. I'm based in Toronto but writing code for all parts of the world.

As a product manager, I struggled to connect with the engineers due to my limited understanding of their work. To bridge this gap, I researched and learned about software engineering - little did I know I would enjoy it enough to pursue a career in it!

I love the instant gratification of seeing output as soon as I input something, and the fact that there are always practical solutions available for different issues that I can try out easily. I also admire the huge community of like-minded people in the field who are always ready to help. It makes me feel like I've finally found my tribe!

Experience

Co-founder and CTO

ZLAPP CORP Full-time, April 2025 - Present
React Native Python Django PostgreSQL Stripe AWS

I’m building Zlapp, a hyper-local, peer-to-peer rental marketplace designed to simplify and secure short-term item rentals. I’ve architected the full-stack platform using Flask, PostgreSQL, Stripe Connect, and AWS, with a focus on seamless payment handling, automated security deposits, and real-time availability tracking. The app also integrates AI-driven suggestions to enhance user trust and streamline the rental experience.

Software Developer

Wisedocs Inc. Full-time, December 2023 - November 2024
Vue.js Python Django PostgreSQL AWS

At Wisedocs, an insurtech startup revolutionizing medical-record review for insurance, legal, and government clients using AI-driven document structuring and expert oversight I designed and delivered full-stack features using Django, Flask, PostgreSQL, and Vue.js to improve internal tools and user workflows. I built a real-time user metrics dashboard, replaced Metabase with integrated performance tracking, and created a feedback system to support AI model training.

I also enhanced infrastructure reliability by centralizing logs with AWS CloudWatch and Watchtower, optimized document generation using LaTeX and Pandoc, and introduced deadline tracking features that reduced missed deadlines by 30%. I was part of the on-call support rotation to ensure fast issue resolution and system stability.

Frontend Engineer

Tidey Mitchener Consulting Freelance, Feb 2023 - Present
Angular Ionic Django

I contributed to the creation of FLOCKHERE, mobile-first, responsive application interfaces from wireframes and delivering a dynamic user experience through integrations with backend and third-party infrastructure.

FLOCKHERE is an app exclusively designed for women who work from home, to locate and reserve laptop-friendly spaces. Its aim is to boost productivity and facilitate networking opportunities with other independent workers in the same vicinity.

When I'm not coding...

...I'm most likely immersed in a book with a coffee in my hand.

I love wandering the city and explore new neighbourhoods. Sandwiches are a food group for me, so I'm always on the hunt for a great one! Let me know your fave spot and I'll share mine!

To know a little more about me, here's a sneak peak into almost all the things that make my heart smile!

Let's connect!

I hope to create solutions that are sophisticated yet easy to navigate and provide value to the user. Feel free to reach out if you have a project in mind and we can work on it together!
